Who are our customers?
We have trained many different groups, from private individuals, companies, local authority employees, such as Social Workers, Health Workers, Housing workers, Police Officers, Fire Fighters, and council workers to both paid and unpaid volunteers in the public sector, such as Church workers, and workers in organisations linked to providing charitable services or essential social functions within the community.
MEET THE TEAM

Our Founding Training Consultant is a retired Police Officer and committed Christian. Tim Cox served twenty-one years with the Metropolitan Police. His first posting was to Hackney Police Station in London's East End. In the 1970s, this was a melting pot of an area, with poor housing and a real mix of ethnic backgrounds amongst the local populace. Seeing through the riots of the 1970s and 1980s, he was promoted to sergeant in 1982, and then served in North London and then West London. As a trained Public Order Supervisor, he was attached to the Divisional Support Unit, so saw a turbulent few months in West London at the time Mrs Ghandi was assassinated. He was selected to work at Hendon Police Training Establishment as a Recruit Trainer from 1986 —1990. Whilst at Hendon he acquired his City and Guilds Further Education Certificate and the Metropolitan Police Trainer’s Certificate (Equivalent to The National Police Trainer’s Certificate.) From there he went to Heathrow Airport, and after five years of police work, including on the Armed Counter-terrorist Unit, he was responsible for supervising the Airport Police Training Unit, becoming a key member of the National Airport Police Trainers Association. In 1997, he transferred to the Thames Valley Police, where he worked for the next nine years in Chiltern Vale and South Bucks until his retirement on an Inspector’s Pension after completing thirty years service. In the meantime he attended the London Bible College and obtained a diploma in Theological studies. Since leaving the police he has acquired his NEBOSH Level Three Certificate of Occupational Health & Safety. Prior to seeting up this consultancy, he worked with Salvus Consulting, for whom he trained Dagenham & Barking Borough Council Workers, including the Social Services, and Warwickshire Fire Service, all in the management of Aggression & Violence, under Health & Safety requirements. He is married to Marion, and they have two sons. Together, having developed the hobby into a business, they have been running a water-ski school for over 20 years. Starting with friends and work colleagues, this has just grown and now they have booked at least one day every week from May through to September and will share their experience with whoever is willing to learn. Ideal for corporate or team-building activities, as well as just being a fantastic day out! |

Sean O'Flanagan is another retired Metropolitan Police officer, and, like Tim, is a dedicated family man and committed Christian. Married to Hilary, who has also served in the Police, Sean saw his thirty years out with the same force, since his teens as a cadet up to 2006. He saw diverse postings, the most crucial being the Anti-Terrorist Branch at New Scotland Yard, where, with other trainers, he was responsible for delivering training to officers up to and including senior Commanders in the management of Terrorist incidents as well as the prevention, contingency planning and intelligence gathering to better protect the officers and public alike. He also saw time at the Force Public Order Training Unit at Houslow. Here he delivered training to all officers in the handling of public order situations, including the deployment and management of shield serials and how to use the shields in diverse situations, e.g. firebombs, house entries, room entries, and close quarter street clearance. He also trained officers in the use of batons and protective equipment.
Since leaving the police, he has also acquired his NEBOSH Certificate and his Fire Safety Certificate, so is qualified under Health & Safety Regulations. He worked with Tim training Warwickshire Fire Service to manage Aggression & Violence for Salvus Consulting.

What exactly do we offer?
What exactly are Tactical Communications?
...and COMMUNICATIONS as: -
The science and practice of transmitting information.
Put them together and one discovers the benefits of understanding how we communicate, what our strengths and weaknesses may be, and how best we can effectively communicate with those around us to the benefit of ourselves, the organisations we represent and those with whom we come into contact.
We rarely get the opportunity to plan or prepare what we will say in any given situation. On those rare occasions we do actually rehearse a speech, the chances are that once we start speaking, something will happen to change the plans, so making us rely upon our wits to struggle through. The awkward question, the deathly silence, or the heckler can interupt our flow, but in conversation, interactive discussion or other unplanned events, how much better would it be to be prepared in advance?
If we can't prepare the material, then why not prepare yourself by improving your communication skills, giving you the ability to develop and adapt to any situation as it occurs?
Why TACTICAL COMMUNICATIONS?
In a changing world, attitudes and values, the competition, market forces, customers, the public and workforce are continually changing. As technology improves, the old skills of being able to effectively communicate with people on a face-to-face basis seem to be lost in a language of mobile texts and Emails.
How will you get the most from an interview, as either the interviewer or the interviewee?
By utilising years of training experience in the Police and industry, we are qualified to assist you and your organisation to optimise your personnel and their skills base. Our training programmes can be tailored to your requirements, with specific aims and objectives written to meet your specific training needs. No two organisations are the same, so a training analysis may be undertaken to ascertain exactly what those needs may be.
T.C. TRAINING seeks to redress the balance by offering a comprehensive range of courses designed
to bring out the best in everyone.
We specialise in training the workers (both paid and volunteers) of Churches
and other faith-based organisations.
Confidence & Assertiveness Training
All training is geared towards individual interpersonal skills.
For all training courses not specified, please contact us and we
can discuss how best to design a package to suit your needs.
